Here's what the humans have to say about me:
George is a six-week-old male dwarf hamster rescued from Chicago Animal Care and Control when his guardians could no longer care for their ever-growing population.
George is fully independent and has been handled daily since being separated from his mommy.
Hamsters are very fun to watch and handle. When they are not sleeping, they are busy busy busy ... spinning on their wheel, playing and stuffing their cheeks with all their favorite foods. The main diet of hamsters are pellets, supplemented with small amounts of fresh foods.
George is happy, healthy, energetic and mostly nocturnal so he typically sleeps or hides a good part of the day and awake in the afternoon for a romp, snack and a run through his tubes.
To meet and possibly adopt George, please contact me directly at sheri@petraits.com or 773-777-2891. His adoption fee is $15, or $30 including a starter cage and supplies.
He is currently living with me in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. With regular handling he is gentle and fun. But, I'd recommend him for adults or teens, and not children under the age of 13.
