Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Emmeline is a shy, gentle and playful two-year-old, 40-pound, female, cattle dog / husky-mix with ice blue eyes looking for a loving guardian.
Emmeline is full of kisses and tail wags for the people she loves – especially those with treats in their pockets. She also adores other dogs, so she’s looking for a home with another youngish, playful, well-adjusted dog to live with … preferably with a secure fenced in yard to romp and play! She is also fine with cats.
She just loves to outdoors, going for walks and is just learning to play with toys and balls. She doesn’t know any formal commands yet, but she is perfectly housebroken and quietly crate-trained. She is very sensitive, so she would do best with older children who are respectful of her gentle nature.
She had just had a litter when she was dropped off at Chicago Animal Care and Control. She was so scared and shut-down, it took the patient people from ACL over a half hour to coax her out of her cage. Now that she’s out of that stressful environment, she is much happier; but she’ll be happiest once she has a home of her very own.
She is healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm-tested and micro-chipped. To meet and possibly adopt Emmeline, please visit the Animal Care League shelter at 1011 Garfield, Oak Park, Illinois, Monday, Thursday & Friday from noon to 7:00 p.m. or Saturday & Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Her adoption fee of $150 benefits the rescued pets of the Animal Care League. You can also contact the ACL at 708-848-8155, or e-mail Gabrielle at caninemanager@animalcareleague.org
