My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We got a desperate email from Kansas about sweet Levi...the shelter was desperate to find a home for this unusually gorgeous (with the most beautiful eyes that speak of great wisdom) and very loving Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie). We can't guarantee that Levi is a purebred..we just don't see another breed in this cutie-pie. Levi was recognized for his goodness and sweet personality (and his beauty always attracts admirers everywhere he goes). But as stunning as Levi is on the outside (although this poor guy needs a bath and a thorough brushing...Farfel's is happy to cover the cost at our groomer's salon in Denver), it just doesn't compare with the love and good-will that flows from the heart of this pup.
As our rescuer drove away from the dreary rural shelter, Levi was so filled with joy that he climbed into her lap, breathed a huge sigh of relief and fell fast asleep. He slept all the way to the vet's office for his temperament testing (he passed with flying colors) and got a perfect on his vetting assessment. So...off he went to his foster home...to be reminded of respectful house skills and to wait for his transport to Denver and a brand new life. Since Levi has gotten an A+ for sweetness, cuddling and general positive behavior...he's ready to be a devoted family member. We envision him in a home either with children who can play with, take long hikes and love Levi with a gentle touch or in a home with retirees who will shower time and attention on this devoted and engaging guy.
We would never want Levi in a situation where he's alone for many hours. Instead we would love for him to be taken along on hikes, adventures and even visits with dog-loving friends. He's almost impossible not to fall in love with...his manner speaks of softness and light. Levi also travels like a champ - he loves nothing more than coming along on errands, hikes and any adventure that keeps him together with those he loves. He would also be a natural to come along on vacations or getaways (and is a perfect companion at 18 - 24 months old and approximately 18 lbs)...he's so pleasant with everyone that he attracts admirers everywhere he goes. But it will definitely be the special lap and familiar touch that will draw Levi back to his family every time...he's a one-family guy!
We've requested that Levi be neutered prior to his transport to Colorado. This frequently doesn't occur in rural Kansas where there are very few vets and long waits for appointments. If Levi isn't fixed, Farfel's will be happy to pay all charges associated with his neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used.
Levi will be arriving on transport in Boulder on 5/5/15. If interested in this snuggly and very devoted pup, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
