Here's what the humans have to say about me:
It's hard to imagine this truly beautiful (inside & out) purebred Border Terrier in a situation where he is facing rehoming. A compassionate Farfel's rescuer made the decision to accept the responsibility of finding Boston the Border Terrier an excellent new home. Boston is a very cute guy (sorry about the awful photo..we'll update as soon as we receive a new shot) who has spent the last year living and playing freely on a farm. His Colorado mom had the following to say about this very sweet guy:
This very beautiful and exceptionally sweet Border Terrier's name is Boston. He's 3 years old (the perfect age as far as I'm concerned for any dog) and neutered to be in alignment with our efforts at zero population growth. Boston weighs around 30 lbs which is a bit more than the standard for a perfect Border Terrier..we say the more there is to love since Boston is the most lovable guy ever!
Boston's main caretakers in his life have been women...consequently he tends to shy away from men. We're unsure about children since Boston hasn't really had experience with kids sharing his home. I would therefore think a woman (or women) would be the perfect match for Boston. What can I say...he's a lover of the opposite sex and is as sweet as he can be about his love of all things female. He's a true gentleman! Boston gets along very well with other dogs (and really enjoys his relationships with them) but doesn't care for cats. Boston is a non-vocal guy...he truly almost never barks which is such a blessing both at home and when we are out and about around town. Boston (like all Border Terriers) really enjoys his exercise in the mornings and evenings while we do chores around the farm. He is so joyful and loves to run as fast as he can while he plays tag with some of the other dogs. After seeing how happy this activity makes Boston, I'm positive that he would be an excellent hiking companion. He loves moving along next to me as we go along the trails - always very trustworthy. One thing that is very clear is that Boston does not like the sound of a gun being fired and therefore wouldn't be a match for anyone who participates in that type of activity.
Boston is the perfect gentleman in my home. He's completely housetrained and so respectful of my possessions and my space in general. He does sleep in a crate, but I always leave the door open (Boston is so trustworthy) so he can come and go at will.
In the year that I've had Boston, he's been a great and snuggly companion and truly a best friend. It's very sad when you live on a farm and are forced to part with your loyal companion because he's just following his instincts. Boston has become aggressive with 2 of my peacocks and on a farm, that just can't happen. Obviously this will have no impact if Boston isn't running freely with peacocks. Whoever is lucky enough to have Boston join their family is getting a gem. I will miss his love and joyful energy a great deal.
Boston loves to cuddle, be petted and has been said to not get overly grumpy about grooming..we'll let you know since he desperately needs a spa day. His potentially gorgeous, non-shedding hair will require care...a periodic grooming and great nutrition would be perfect to keep his coat as beautiful as it can be.
Boston is a very smart pup - true to his breed! He has the potential to be a truly exceptional and loyal companion. Farfel's is very excited to participate in finding this special Border Terrier his forever family.
We're currently searching for a forever home for Boston and are accepting applications and setting up meet and greets. If interested in this sweet guy who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
