My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Helloooo Everybody! I'm Maggie! I'm as sweet as can be and I love everyone and almost all other doggies and cats are fine with me too. I am so delighted to be in a place where I can have some rest and extra attention. I also had a pretty sore mouth and I wasn't "fixed" but now all that is good. I'm a lovely girl, if you meet me you will see that. I hope you will take the time to find out!
Chihuahua Rescue says: Maggie came from a low level "hoarder", meaning a well intentioned individual was taking on way too many pets and their ability to care for them properly wasn't there. So Maggie was one of 7 lovely chihuahuas from that situation. The other 6 are with our Crown Point location and some of them have already found homes. Maggie had been placed but a problem with dogs in mass pet homes is that they frequently haven't any skill in house training and use the indoors in a raccoon or cat like fashion finding an area to use as a "litter box". The person who had Maggie wasn't able to put up with her lack of training and so Maggie came back despite her very awesome personality. She is a sweet girl and a smart girl, so with time she will acquire training skills. Often these dogs are confined in a space and encouraged to use the indoors for relieving themselves as its a nightmare to corral 15 dogs.
Maggie weighs about 7# and is about 5 years old, Her adoption fee is $250.
