Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sam is an adorable, puppyish and playful, 18-month-old, 28-pound, male Chow/Eskimo-mix looking for a loving guardian.
Poor Sam was a stray dog that landed at Chicago Animal Care & Control. He is nervous at first with new people and with new animals, so he is currently being professionally trained and is looking for a foster home for when he comes out of training. He already knows the command “sit” and takes treats very gently from your fingers.
Sam is wonderful one-on-on with the people he knows and loves, perfectly housebroken and crate-trained. He has not been socialized with other animals so he’s looking for a home as the one and only pet.
He loves to play ball, go for walks and car rides. He walks around happily with a stuffed animal in his mouth. He has some territorial and guarding tendencies so he’s best in a home with teens and adults who can reinforce all that he has learned and continue his training. With a little work, this boy will make someone a fun and rewarding canine companion.
If you are interested in meeting and possibly fostering or adopting Sam, please fill in an on-line adoption application at http://fortunatelabrescue.org/adoptionapplication.html and follow up by contacting the rescue at info@fortunatelabrescue.org or 773-318-2239. You can also contact their rescuer Amy directly for more information at amysusanbrennan@aol.com or 773-727-9340. Sam’s adoption fee of $300 benefits Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue. Sam is very healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm-tested, and micro-chipped.
