When Ravi's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the adorable (and very elegant looking...once he's gets a sudsy bath and a thorough grooming) Ravi tucked tightly into a cage...his time was up. Farfel's immediately got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this Poodle mix is..and the need to save his life. We agreed and Ravi became a very treasured Farfel's dog. He earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with his great personality and kind and positive attitude toward the world.
At just about 18 months old and 13 lbs, this very beautiful and often entertaining guy with the great temperament is a blank slate waiting for positive input and guidance to be the best adult dog he's capable of being. We'd love to match Ravi to a family that will spend lots of time with this appropriate and very portable pup. He's a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere...and would love it. We definitely suggest positive reinforcement group obedience class (Ravi is so smart and wanting to please that he'll be the star of the class). This will not only provide socialization and great skills...but will cement the relationship between Ravi and his family.
Ravi gets a ton of attention when he's out and about...we're stopped over and over by other walkers asking what kind of dog Ravi is because he's so cute and others loving on him because he's so engaging. It's true...Ravi is so sweet...and extremely eye-catching. When he turns that gentle look in your direction with those dark and very expressive eyes, you can't help but smile. You can see just a touch of a sign that this young guy has had difficult times. But not for him to be negative..a smile and a wag is more Ravi's style. It's clear that Ravi has left the pain behind...he so positive. Farfel's Rescue is searching for an adult family (or with very gentle older kids) for Ravi ...it's not that he doesn't like young kids - we just feel he'll be more comfortable and settled with the more mellow adult environment. A retired couple or individual would be perfect for this pup. He would thrive on the time and attention that he could share. Ravi would be is a loyal and positive pup which makes him very easy to spend time with enjoying the wonders of life in Colorado. Ravi would also enjoy time with dogs of similar size who could be gentle playmates. When you're only 13 lbs, even a very well-adjusted puppy can be intimidated by larger, rambunctious dogs.
Ravi has a cotton-soft coat that never sheds and is considered to be one of the most hypoallergenic of breed mixes. He must be periodically groomed and receive great nutrition to keep it healthy and matt-free.
