My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we heard that Charlie was being surrendered by his guardian to a high-kill New Mexico shelter ...it was difficult to believe. We had to remind ourselves that even the greatest dogs sometimes don't get the wonderful and loving homes that we all wish for them. Farfel's has immediately responded to the need for a forever family for this exceptional little guy.

Farfel's was given the following information about wonderful little Charlie:

Charlie is a truly special purebred West Highland Terrier (Westie). We know that everyone says that their foster is the most special and unique - Charlie sits at the top in every area! He's at such a great age - he's 4 - 4.5 years old and weighs about 18 (or so) lbs. This starts a great period in a dog's life being old enough to have let puppyish behavior go and young enough to have many active, healthy years ahead. Charlie is perfectly housebroken, walks on a leash like a champ, loves car rides (which has been so great - I can take Charlie anywhere and he's always so pleasant), he has developed a perfect knack for rolling down the car windows...so very talented! There is no dog sweeter than Charlie...or smarter! He knows how to sit. He loves, kids and other dogs with all his kind heart. Charlie was given up because his owners were moving out of the country and decided he wasn't going. Their loss is someone else's amazing gain!

Charlie has the softest coat ever...the stunning pure white hair with his dark, expressive eyes light up this gentle guy and you can't help but rest your cheek against his cotton-soft belly. He's so kind and sweet and open to any handling...he trusts that humans will be gentle with him.

Charlie deserves a family that will give him lots of attention...he thrives on love and cuddling. We don't believe that Charlie will be happy in a home where he's alone for long hours... therefore we're searching for a retired couple or individuals who enjoy spending lots of time with a furry companion. A younger family would also be fine as Charlie enjoys gentle kids...but they would need to spend lots of time at home or choose to bring Charlie along. He's such a portable and low-maintenance pup that it would be easy to include him in almost any activity. He enjoys long walks and the company of calm dogs of a similar size...no fear in his being aggressive or difficult - he wants desperately to please those that he is bonded to. Charlie might be a bit shy initially but as his adorable personality emerges...he's a very fun and silly guy.

Charlie is a non-shedding guy and therefore requires periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his cottony-soft coat shining and matt-free. Farfel's is thrilled to be welcoming Charlie to Colorado.

Charlie will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday morning 8/1/15. If you're interested in this sweet, endearing and often entertaining pup, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302.
