Striker's Story...

Hi! My name is Striker. I have not had a very good life… somehow I found myself in a kill shelter but luckily the nice folks at Black Dogs & Company Rescue wanted me. Life was going pretty good and I had just started coming out of my shell and enjoying life in my foster home with another dog and even cats but I got scared and ran from my foster home in Maryland. I ran and hid for almost a year. BD&CR loved me so much they kept looking and looking and finally they caught me. I am a sweet boy and do not require much, I am still learning to trust and my best friend is Krypto another black dog (check out his profile too!). I need a home that will help me trust again. My foster momma tells me I am sweet and the right home will come along. Adoption fee of $300 includes age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, spay or neuter and microchip. Adoption applications can be found on our website http://blackdogsandcompanyrescue.org/

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Striker, a Darlington Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Darlington, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Darlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Darlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Darlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Darlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
