My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It can be a true challenge to find a dog that is both trustworthy and engaging (once comfortable) with the humans and dogs that make their acquaintance. Kramer fulfills these personality traits... and so much more.

Wheaten Terrier/Poodle is the breed mix suggested by the Kansas vets..Kramer seems a bit small for this breed combination at an anticipated adult weight of 15 lbs. He really looks like a miniature Wheaten with his wavy golden hair and beautiful face with dark expressive eyes. Kramer is initially shy but before you know it his tail wags tentatively...and then shows the joy that lives inside. Kramer is so smart and learns skills so quickly...and once he trusts completely he can be cuddly, engaging and so very sweet to spend time with. such an adorable guy!

This very kind dog was a last-minute save in rural Kansas...as is evident by his shelter-dirty coat that desperately needs a sudsy bath and grooming as well as his need for great nutrition that will put weight on his too-lean frame. No worries though — young healthy dogs like Kramer can pick up pounds quickly and before you know it, find the perfect weight for their body.

Farfel's Rescue felt so strongly that Kramer had to be rescued. Perhaps it was his exceptional and engaging temperament...he's a very gentle being who tends to be initially quiet. And then the inevitable kiss to those who give him a moment with a kind pat and soft words that let Kramer know that all is perfect. He's such a lover who is just waiting to blossom with high self-esteem.

Kramer has the most adorable face... his expressive, shining eyes speak of his great nature and his desire to be given a chance for a new life. Kramer was accepted into Farfel's Rescue without question as he aced his temperament testing. He's a gift to any family who has the love to give and the desire to spend time with a good-natured fuzzy guy. Kramer is so sweet and cuddly that he can easily wear the role of best friend. At 9 - 10 months old and 12 pounds (expected to be approximately 16 lbs when full grown), Kramer is the perfect size to be a lap or couch dog, as well as a guy you can scoop up and bring along on any adventure or hike through the beautiful Colorado mountains.

Kramer will always be there when it's time to play or snuggle...but never overbearing. At this point in his development, Kramer is fine to go off on his own to chew a toy or to hang out with another like-sized and gentle canine friend. He loves to enjoy the sunshine be it on a walk or finding a sunny spot at home. He is very happy lying close for a belly rub, but when it's time to get going...Kramer is happy to enjoy a walk, play in the yard or a car ride to a dog-friendly spot. Kramer is flexible and easygoing and just so wonderful to be with! We want his spirit to be nurtured with people's time and companionship. He would be the star of a positive-reinforcement training class..always wanting to please and yearning for respect. Training could be a whole family affair to promote bonding and a better understanding of each other.

Kramer appears to be a non-shedding guy (although it's difficult to tell for certain until his shelter-dirty cost grows out) with the cotton-soft hair of his breed mix. He'll therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition (salmon oil would be a great supplement) to keep his coat healthy and matt-free.

We've requested that Kramer be neutered prior to his transport to Colorado. If this doesn't occur (due to too many dogs and not enough vets in this rural area of Kansas), Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Kramer's neuter/ microchip if our Denver vet is used.

Kramer is being fostered in Denver. Meet and Greets are being set up and applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and very loving best friend and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
