My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Romeo is a friendly, snuggly and affectionate, five to six-year-old, 18-pound, tall male Schnauzer/Yorkie-mix with a funny-looking under-bite looking for a loving guardian.

Romeo is a happy and sweet little lap dog who enjoys the company of people of all ages - including children, as well as other dogs and cats. His foster mom says Romeo does not have an aggressive bone in his body - he’s all cuddly love and kindness. However, someone must have not enjoyed his barking at some point because his muzzle is hairless – perhaps from someone taping it shut?! It’s hard to believe someone could ever be mean to this marshmallow of a dog.

He loves trips to the dog park, long walks or a going for a jog. Romeo is housebroken and crate-trained. However, if you just let him out in the yard … he may forget to pee. That’s what walks are for!

Romeo enjoys sharing a bed with his humans. He would enjoy an active home with another dog or a dog-loving cat who likes to play, someone to keep him company while his person goes out. But if you don’t have another pet, he’d be fine with doggie day care or trips to the dog park for socializing. He needs to get his energy out.

Romeo is very healthy, de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly heartworm preventative. He also had a recent dental and the vet said he may need to have his teeth cleaned annually to prevent dental disease. To meet and possibly adopt Romeo, please fill out an adoption application at http://raindogrescue.org/application/ and follow up by contacting Rain Dog Rescue at info@raindogrescue.org or 773-770-5115. You can also contact his foster mom with specific questions at lauren.rhone@gmail.com or 312.735.7117. He is being fostered in Chicago, Illinois. His adoption fee of $200 benefits Rain Dog Rescue.
