Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We got a desperate email from Canon City, CO about sweet Chun...the shelter was desperate to find a home for this unusually cute and silly looking Puggle (with the most beautiful dark eyes that speak of great wisdom). While Chun favors the Pug far more than the Beagle, his Puggle mix is a great one... his nose isn't quite as flat as a Pug (a very good thing for his health!) and his body is leaner and not as thick in the shoulders as a pure Pug (far better again for his health..he has the ability...and loves to hike distances and participate in all athletics).
The Canon City, Colorado shelter included this bio of Chun:
Chung is a 2.5 - 3 year old, approximately 15 lb neutered male Puggle. He walks nicely on a leash, although (like most rescues who haven't had much exposure to the leash) he could use some practice. Chung passed all handling tests like a pro, but does need a guardian who will be very patient and slow with him. Chung would do best in a home with an adult family who spends lots of time at home or nurturing retirees who would enjoy great doggie energy in their home. Chun would be overjoyed with lots of time spent together. Trips together to dog-friendly parks and trails would speak to this family-oriented guy. Chun has been tested with another dog and did very well. He has not been tested with cats. Chun does really great in our pack walk program. He is very appropriate with great behavior.
Chun was recognized for his goodness and sweet personality (and his adorable/silly looks always attracts admirers everywhere he goes). But as cute as Chun is on the outside, it just doesn't compare with the love and good-will that flows from the heart of this guy.
As our rescuer drove away from the dreary rural shelter, Chun was so filled with joy that he climbed into the passenger seat, breathed a huge sigh of relief and fell fast asleep. He slept all the way to the vet's office for his temperament testing (he passed with flying colors) and got a perfect on his vetting assessment. So...off he went to his foster home...to be reminded of respectful house skills and to wait for his transport to Denver and a brand new life.
Since Chun has gotten great grades for sweetness, cuddling and general positive behavior...he's ready to be a devoted adult family member. We envision him in a home with those who can play with and love Chun with a gentle touch or in a home with retirees who will shower time and attention on this devoted and engaging guy.
We would never want Chun in a situation where he's alone for many hours. Instead we would love for him to be taken along on hikes, adventures and visits with dog-loving friends. He's almost impossible not to fall in love with...his manner speaks of cuteness and fun. Chun also travels like a champ - he loves nothing more than coming along on errands, hikes and any adventure that keeps him together with those he loves.
Chun would also be a natural to come along on vacations or getaways...he's pleasant with everyone and attracts admirers everywhere he goes. But it will definitely be the special lap and familiar touch that will draw Chun back to his family every time...he's a one-family guy!
Chun is being fostered in Denver. Meet and Greets are being set up and applications and inquiries are welcome. If interested in this very cute and sweet companion Puggle, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
