Meet Riley! He is a 3 month old 14 lb Mountain Cur pup that came to us from Anti-Cruelty Society. Riley is a special dog. Originally from Mississippi, he came to ACS having just had a recent perineal urethrostomy (PU). What is that, you ask? Basically, we were told he had a deformity of his boy parts and he was "re-plumbed" so he looks and urinates like a female. He may have increased risk of getting bladder infections, but that is about it. Hey- in our opinion you never have to worry about him lifting his leg on anything- so this is a good thing! He is a typical puppy- sweet and playful and lovable!
Riley will need a family who has the time and patience to care for a young puppy. He will need to be house trained and will need obedience training. His adoption fee is $250, which will include his age appropriate vaccinations and heartworm prevention, deworming, neuter, microchip, leash, collar and 30 days of pet insurance. Adopters will also be required to provide a $200 refundable deposit, which will be returned once adopters show proof of completion of a beginning obedience class (adopter's choice of positive reinforcement training) by the mutually agreed upon date.
Adopter's must live within a 1.5-2 hr driving distance from us in Romeoville, Illinois. Puppies will not be transported. Application, reference checks and home visit required!
