Here's what the humans have to say about me:
When we are asked about a special rescue pup that is snuggly, sweet and very fun-loving, we can't help but think of Larson. His smile is shining...and maybe just a bit mischievous. His Arkansas foster always knows it's morning when Larson's little head comes under the blanket...getting closer and closer..and then a huge kiss of love. This curious and really, really smart 3.5 year old, 22 lb Yorkiepoo is a loyal companion and so entertaining! Larson can dance on his back legs...with a big smile on his adorable face, he has so much fun creating his own dance steps.
There aren't many visible signs that Larson was in a very scary high-kill shelter. He may be initially a bit quiet or shy..but a warm hug and reassuring words and Larson bounces back and cuddles just a bit closer.
We picture Larson as the best friend to a committed family who enjoy spending time at home with their loyal fuzzy friend (or taking him along - he's such an engaging guy). Or retirees with the time and desire to love and nurture a new best friend would be a great home for Larson. He would be so loyal.. and overjoyed to share his love and good will...not to mention that he's a lap-dog extraordinaire. There's no question that Larson would be the most popular guy on the block. Once comfortable, he loves to engage and just be his entertaining, adorable self.
Even though Larson is usually up for pretty much any activity, he's never pushy or yappy. Exercise..perhaps long, leisurely walks to socialize with neighbors or a hike in the mountains would be perfect. The mental stimulation that comes from his time with his humans is important to Larson to keep him happy and well-behaved.
Larson is such an easy guy to bring along just about anywhere sweet dogs are welcome. You can just scoop him up and he'll lie happily in your arms. Or grab a backpack and a leash and Alvin will be ready for a long hike and a picnic lunch. Larson derives so much joy from his relationships, we would love to see him in a family that loves him dearly...he's a great guy who deserves this in his life.
This adorable Yorkie/Poodle has the softest cinnamon-colored cotton-like hair. Larson is a non-shedder whose breed mix is considered to be great for those with allergy concerns. Larson will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his stunning coat with the beautiful waves cottony-soft and matt-free.
