My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Elegant, beautiful, gentle and wise, Sierra is dearly hoping to relocate to a loving home VERY SOON! Sierra is much too refined a lady for a shelter. She keeps her own counsel on the subject by tucking herself away and observing her surroundings. She's been very fortunate to have her Pet Pal friends come for visits, and they have been fortunate to get to know this very lovely cat. When Sierra feels confident that you are to be trusted she enjoys ear rubs, petting and general companionship. Her previous guardian says she likes tummy rubs--an activity generally only enjoyed by very trusting, mellow cats.

We think Sierra will do best as an indoor cat in a calm, adults-only home. You'll want to begin by setting aside a small, dedicated space for her. Provide her with a bed, basket or box in which there is only one opening. This "hideaway" will make her feel more secure. She will also need bowls for food and water, a scratcher, a litter box and some cat toys. An interactive wand teaser toy can be a good way to bond with your cat. You'll want to visit Sierra often offering lots of pets, soft words of comfort and some playtime. When she comes toward you as you enter, it is a good sign that she may be ready to be introduced to the rest of her new home gradually, room by room. Be sure to always leave a clear path back to her sanctuary.

Sierra will reward her kind and patient new guardian with years of love, affection and playfulness.

Sierra is considered a Courtesy Listing. We offer our services to help other responsible rescue groups or individuals find good homes for cats in need. We have screened and interviewed each of the individuals before agreeing to post their cats.
