This big, beautiful boy is Blackjack, a mastiff/lab mix that is only around a year old and would just love a great home of his own. Blackjack had a home, but his owner turned him into our Newark facility when they could no longer care for him. Blackjack was transferred to us at Popcorn Park and came bopping off the van, making friends and slapping everyone with his constantly-wagging tail! You may not be able to tell by his pictures because he looks so serious, but Blackjack is an absolute goofball that loves everyone he meets. He is a very outgoing, friendly guy that will be leaning against you and trying to wiggle his big rearend into your lap within minutes of knowing you. He just loves people and loves getting attention. Blackjack is well behaved too and will sit and offer you a pawshake when asked, and he takes treats very gently. Although he is strong, he walks well on leash too. Blackjack is quite puppyish and loves running and playing in our exercise yard, though he seems to be more content sitting by your side and getting attention. Blackjack gets along fine with larger dogs but will need a home with no cats or very small dogs. Your life would be so much happier if you let our bubbly Blackjack into it, so come in and meet him!
