Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Anike is that rare female orange tabby. She has such a gentle look about her. She is shy right now, but she trusts a bit more every day. We are letting her decide when to approach us and do not rush her. At only a few days, she rubs against our legs first thing in the morning. When we are spending quiet time in the family room, she likes to keep close by, curling up on the end of the couch or on an upholstered chair pushed under the table. She is a welcome, peaceful presence in our home and she is completely accepted by our own cats. Perhaps they are helping her feel at home.
In the last few days Anike has been playing, yes playing (!) with the sparkly balls and toy mice! She also watched one of our cats on the basement catwalk and tried it out herself. Just cuz. Seeing her becoming a domesticated cat is the most satisfying, heart-warming experience.
Anike was rescued from an outdoor colony north of the city; we are amazed that after living several years outdoors, she has such a vast capacity for love. She just needs a compassionate and patient family to wait for her to find her courage. She would probably be most comfortable in a home without small children or dogs. Given the chance, Anike won't disappoint you.
