One-Eyed Willie's Story...
Sweet One-Eyed Willie is a 7 yr old Chihuahua mix with a sad story. He was found roaming the streets with bite wounds to his head and neck and an eyeball hanging out. He was picked up by animal control and treated for his wounds. Unfortunately they couldn't save the damaged eye and it had to be removed. Animal control was hopeful an owner would come forward and claim this scared boy but no one ever came. One-Eyed Willie was not coping well in the shelter and was shutting down. He was scared of the other dogs but was not aggressive towards them. He just wanted to be left alone. That's when we were contacted. The shelter felt Willie would do better in a foster home. He is with us now and is slowly coming out of his shell but he really needs a home of his own.
Please email us at SOSPetRescue@yahoo.com if you are interested in adopting or fostering this sweet fellow or one of our other available dogs!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

One-Eyed Willie, a Va Beach Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Va Beach, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Va Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Va Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Va Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Va Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
