My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We're so glad that Brandon was able to stay safe as he wandered through Roswell, NM as a stray...and finally was picked up and brought to a downtown shelter. His safety became questionable when he was slated for euthanasia due to the extremely overcrowded shelter conditions. No way that Farfel's could let that happen to this beautiful scruffy Terrier mix with the great temperament! Arrangements were quickly made...and Brandon left the shelter just in the nick of time.

This truly exceptional (in dire need of a bath and a serious haircut - will update with a post-shelter photo as soon as we receive it) guy is a 12 - 18 month old Cairn/Norfolk mix left all the pain and misery of his previous life behind as he acclimated to the security of a foster home, great nutrition and lots of love and belly rubs! We found...to our delight...that Brandon is a very loving and sweet guy. He really enjoys his time with his foster parents...especially if it's about snuggling or leisurely walks. Since Brandon has been deprived of human attention for at least a part of his short life, he needs a bit of assurance that he's loved in a forever sort of way. He seemed to be a bit unsure... but we notice that he gains confidence every day that he interacts with well-meaning and kind humans. We envision Brandon in a home with a gentle canine sibling and guardians that choose to spend lots of time having fun with their dog.

Brandon would be ecstatic to spend this quality time and would definitely form a fast and forever bond. He wants to please like none other...it almost seems like he's gathered the wisdom that guides him toward wanting to achieve great behavior. Just show him the way and he'll always want to succeed. Brandon would be great for positive reinforcement group obedience classes. He will be learning skills with his family that creates bonding and great behavior. No stress in taking Brandon to social situations...he gets along so well with everyone and is a pleasure to be with. A loving family that has the time and desire to form a close relationship with a pup that truly deserves it is our goal for our exceptional Brandon.

Brandon is a non-shedding dog (or maybe a hair or two) We'll know for certain when he loses his sad and matted shelter coat and it's replaced by a stunning chestnut coat that is true to his scruffy breed mix. Brandon will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his amazing coat healthy and matt-free.

We've requested that Brandon be neutered prior to his transport to Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to far too few vets in this impoverished area of New Mexico. If it doesn't, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Brandon's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used.

Brandon will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 4/16/16. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this sweet. cuddly and fun-loving pup, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com, fax to 303-443-7730 or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302.
