Hi! I'm Miro! I am an adult male chihuahua - about 5-7 years old, and approximately 5 pounds. I LOVE walks and enjoy car rides! I get along with other dogs and I'm very interested in cats. They're almost my size! Mostly I want to be your shadow and lap dog! I love belly rubs & like to sleep in the bed, but I am crate trained and perfectly fine sleeping in my own bed. I am potty trained. However due to the medicine I'm on for Congestive Heart Failure I do have to go potty a lot, so regular bathroom breaks are a must! I am totally vetted and neutered, and with medication I can live a long happy life despite my CHF. I adore women, but my foster is a man so I've gotten accustomed to all kinds of people. I like people who are calm and confident with a "this is happening" attitude. That way I can just leave all the decision making to my person. Anything that moves quickly will startle me at first, so while I don't particularly LOVE kids, my foster thinks I would do just fine with kids a little older. I am very curious and friendly, but like most chihuahua I'm slightly skittish. However I do like a person who takes charge with me. It makes me comfortable.
Miro's adoption fee is $250 (Seniors for Seniors $200).

About Chihuahua Rescue Indiana- Indianapolis Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. is a non profit, all volunteer rescue working with Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. The pets are housed in individual volunteer foster homes, not kennels or shelters until they are adopted permanently. We get to know our animals and therefore can tell the potential adopter what the traits of the animal are and what home would be the best for the pet. We are dedicated to the adoption, education, rescue and transportation of the Chihuahua breed. We believe that every Chihuahua deserves a loving home.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

Donations are up to the individual and are made to a not for profit organization.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold adoption events at local Petsmarts, Pet Supply Plus, and Petcos. The dates are fluid and they do coincide with the nationally advertised adoption events at the locales.

Our Adoption Process...

**If you are unable to pay the adoption fee, we are unable to place a dog in your care. Being unable to meet the financial obligations of pet care (recurrent or emergent) is one of many reasons why so many of these pets end up in rescue. It's not lack of love.**
We require an adoption inquiry, and then we will check references. We also check with vets. If the person is not LOCAL then we will partner with a local animal control or Humane Society to do a home visit and give us the go ahead to adopt.
There are adoption fees associated with the costs of veterinary care of the pet. We require an adoption contract to be signed to finalize the adoption process and we have an agreement that all our pets are to be Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. pets for LIFE. In other words, in the event that they can not stay in their adoptive home they are not to be surrendered to another individual or rescue.
