We understand that Buddy's guardian had no choice but to part with this very sweet guy. The woman's health had been going downhill for years and with it her care of her Poodles. We're not certain if she knew that they were being turned into a very high-kill shelter..but do understand her necessity. Compassionate New Mexico rescuers recognized the love this wonderful dog could bring to a family and contacted Farfel's. We are so happy to speak up for Buddy and search for a kind and nurturing home for him.
Buddy is the perfect best friend for a family searching for that very loving lap or couch dog. Buddy, at approximately 8 - 9 years old (these smaller mixes can live very long lives with great nutrition and care) and 20 lbs is a dream guy for those whose lifestyle is mellow. Buddy would be overjoyed with a guardian that is searching for a full-time companion. He would be such a sweet-tempered love bug to take on a walk or a car ride to go anywhere that a wonderful dog is allowed. He may be small but once Buddy is exposed to a take-along lifestyle, he will be thrilled to spend his time with the Colorado sunshine warming his back.
We envision Buddy in a quiet home...he appears to like kids but the activity and noise level of young children on a full-time basis aren't compatible with his quiet personality. Buddy enjoys other dogs his own size who will be gentle...he's fine with sharing the couch, the yard and even a warm lap.
Buddy's foster has noticed that Buddy(like his siblings) enjoys classical music. Any time it comes on in the house, the car or anywhere for that matter, Buddy's little head cocks sideways and you swear you see him sway to the soft music. We feel it brings him a calmness that he finds so enjoyable.
A retired individual or couple who love adorable adult dogs with cotton-soft hair, amazing personalities, (once they get over their initial shyness), great house manners and taste in fine music would be the perfect forever spot for this wonderful little dog.
Buddy is a non-shedding guy (and considered to be one of the most hypoallergenic mixes available). He will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his cottony-soft coat healthy and matt-free.
