My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hocus and Pocus, a sweet pair of sisters (not biologically but they chose each other!) that love people and gentle animals. Hocus is a grey and orange tortie with excellent house manners. She loves her current guardian's older cat and labrador and is incredibly well adjusted--she doesn't even mind a running vacuum cleaner! Go figure!

Hocus is a lover. She's a very sweet girl, purrs instantly and enjoys being petted and picked up. She will roll on her back for a tummy rub and will crawl into an open lap for some lovin'. She follows her current guardian from one room to another as well as upstairs and downstairs. It's like having a dog! She's curious and loves to play and her favorite toy is a cat wand w/feathers.

This cutie is not a picky eater, chirps to communicate with you and LOVES her sister Pocus.

Pocus is a Siamese/Seal Point and traditional to this breed, bears the cream with dark brown face, ears and tail - very cute.

Pocus is missing her right hind paw due to a birth defect - but that doesn't slow her down! She gets around just fine and jumps on chairs, hopping around like a little bunny.

Like Hocus, Pocus gets along well with the older resident cat and the lab retreiver. She too has excellent house manners and does not shy away from a running vacuum. Fancy that!

Pocus is very attached to Hocus, although more independent with people. She is still very affectionate and enjoys being petted and being picked up, but prefers to sit in her own space, rather than nuzzle or crawl into your lap like Hocus. That said, she will stick around forever to be petted - pop in a movie and she's yours for the duration! Like Hocus, she will follow her guardian from one room to another as well as upstairs and downstairs. These two are a curious pair and love to play.

Both are easy eaters and take to just about anything.

Pocus talks a little bit - mostly when she's looking for her sister. And, is a little more sensistive than Hocus and does best in an environment where she feels safe - no sudden movements or loud noises, although she will get used to repeated sounds like a lawn mower, sprinkler system, etc.

These girls are very bonded and will make a perfect addition to just about any home. If you'd like to meet them, please call Debbie, Jake's Place Adoption Manager at 415-548-0824 or visit http://www.jakesplacecatrescue.org

Hocus and Pocus are considered a Courtesy Listing. We offer our services to help other responsible rescue groups or individuals find good homes for cats in need. We have screened and interviewed each of the individuals before agreeing to post their cats.
