When Margeaux's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the terrified yet adorable (and so sad-looking) Margeaux tucked tightly into a cage...her time was up.
Farfel's Rescue immediately got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this little mix is..and the need to save her life. We immediately agreed an became a very treasured Farfel's dog. She earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with her great personality (although initially a bit shy..who wouldn't be?) and her kind attitude toward the world. At just about 9 - 12 months old and a perfect lap-size of 18 lbs, this beautiful girl is a blank slate waiting for positive input and guidance to be the best adult dog she's capable of being.
We'd love to match Margeaux to a family that will spend lots of time with this very portable pup..she will fall completely in love with these special people and there's no more loyal companion around. She's a perfect size to accompany her family just about anywhere...and would love it.
Margeaux has gotten a ton of hugs and attention at the shelter. You immediately know she's sweet...and just a touch fragile and vulnerable right now. It's clear that she hadn't been properly cared for in the past and we can't wait for a great individual or family to make her the diva she should be. After some great nutrition and a spa day, Margeaux will be a beautiful and fuzzy white/apricot teddy bear (with the cutest face around).
When Margeaux turns her gentle (yet very wise) look in your direction, you can't help but smile at her soft gaze and adorable ways. You can see just a touch of a sign that this young dog has had difficult times. But not for her to be negative..a smile and a wag is more Margeaux's style.
Farfel's Rescue is searching for an adult family (or with older, very gentle kids) for Margeaux ...it's not that she doesn't like young kids...we just feel she'll be more comfortable and settled with adults. A retired couple or individual would be perfect for this for this beautiful girl. She would thrive on the time and attention that she could share. Margeaux is a very loyal and positive-minded dog..that makes her easy to spend time with just enjoying the wonders of life in Colorado.
Margeaux would also enjoy time with dogs of similar size who could be gentle playmates. When you're only 18 lbs, even a very well-adjusted pup can be intimidated by larger, rambunctious dogs.
Margeaux is a non-shedding girl (these mixes are said to be among the most hypoallergenic available). She will be the most beautiful girl on the block after a sudsy bath and new hairdo. She will require periodic grooming and great nutrition (a salmon oil supplement would be great) to keep her beautiful coat cottony-soft and matt-free.
