Lady's Story...

Lady is an adorable mix who adores people and is wonderful with kids. She enjoys toys and play time outside but is just as content to relax at your feet.  Lady has a high prey drive and needs a home without cats.  She gets along with dogs but needs a slow intro and can be reactive on leash.  Lady is house broken, crate trained, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application at blackdogsandcompanyrescue.org or email rescueblackdogs@yahoo.com. Vet references and a home visit are required. Adoption fee of $300 includes age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, spay or neuter and microchip.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lady, a Darlington Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever for sale in Darlington, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Darlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Darlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Darlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Darlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
