My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. Willy is the kind of pup who snuggles in, loves you up and then puts his tiny head on your shoulder. He's so new and fresh with every possibility open to him. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuer in saving Willy (and his 4 siblings)...she could see that all their temperaments were so sweet and endearing that she couldn't allow any of them to be euthanized.

Willy was immediately brought to be vetted and then on to a great Houston foster home to receive pure love and begin his education. It turns out that Willy, (at 16 weeks old and about 8 lbs..anticipated to be approximately 15 lbs when full grown) is such a cuddle-bug...he's so sweet and endearing! Willy snuggles up and is a cuddly lap dog...and then watch out - puppy energy! Willy is so playful and so engaging that it's become a fun and rewarding experience for his foster mom.

Willy is cute as a button and very entertaining. He is like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around him. If Willy continues this regimen of socialization that promote positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans, he will become a well-adjusted and well-behaved adult companion.

Willy is a beautiful Schnauzer/Terrier mix puppy with the most beautiful golden and white streaks running through his silky hair. Due to fleas and extreme stress while on death row, Willy (and his siblings) have varying degrees of dermatitis which results in hair loss. This is easily remedied with great nutrition, no fleas and lots of love and gentle handling resulting in calm within the puppy.

Willy's calm yet silly demeanor is just who he is...he just appears to be more entertaining than your average puppy. If he is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, Willy will become a well-adjusted guy who respects his people as his leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for this very sweet puppy. We also feel it's very important that he is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. Willy would be overjoyed with walks/hikes along Colorado paths and enjoying the sunshine.

We'd like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Willy can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany his family just about anywhere.

Willy may be arriving in Boulder unfixed due to his very young age. Farfel's has requested that he be fixed prior to transport. If this isn't the case, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs in regard to Willy's neuter and microchip.

Willy appears to be a non-shedder (or a very light shedder). Lots of sudsy baths and grooming combined with great nutrition (coconut oil is a great addition) will result in this puppy's coat becoming healthy and silky-soft.

Willy will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/19/16. If interested in this sweet and very devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
