Here's what the humans have to say about me:
There are many, many Yorkie lovers in the dog world...it's considered by many to be one of the most desirable breeds available today. This is due to their consistently cuddly temperaments and silly, entertaining personalities. There's also no question that they're strikingly beautiful with their cotton-soft, flowing hair and soft and expressive eyes.
Henry is a stunning golden Yorkie with touches of reds and beige running through his silky coat..gorgeous! Once he has a spa day..Henry will be the handsomest Yorkie mix around! Due to the stress and fleas of the shelter, Henry has a bit of dermatitis. This is easily cured with a flea-free environment, a very healthy diet and lots of love and calm.
Henry is just about 2.5 - 3 years old and 13 lbs... and so sweet and affectionate. Initially Henry was very frightened in the shelter but was so endearing that the shelter personnel worked with him and he started to blossom. Henry would be a perfect companion for a dog-loving family who enjoys time with their best friend. Long walks along amazing Colorado paths would be so much fun for Henry! And at day's end, he loves nothing more than to cuddle against his favorite people either on their lap or close by to feel their companionship.
Henry seems to have overcome his fears regarding his early life and is very open to new relationships. . He was in a high-kill shelter and had run out of options.. but his great personality and sweet ways earned him a ticket to a new life in Colorado. It appears that Henry has learned to live in harmony with every kind of being...he was great (while initially frightened) with every person who greeted him at transport. He seems to have derived hope from his rescue and the possibilities of a new and forever family.
We feel strongly that Henry's forever family should have the motivation to continue his socialization and offer him the gift of obedience training classes. Henry is so special both inside and out and deserves a family that appreciates the gift of his temperament while understanding to initially move slowly. Henry's people should be willing to show him boundaries through love and time spent.
Farfel's is searching for a home with committed retirees or a family with older children as a forever spot for Henry. He would enjoy the time spent together and would blossom with a family that considers their dog a valued member of their family. We feel that Henry would be great as on only dog. While he enjoys the company of a playful and gentle doggie-friend, it's not mandatory for his happiness. It's more the companionship of a truly loving guardian that's important. Henry will return this loyalty and love a thousand times over.
Henry is a non-shedding guy who has been unkempt...but underneath (with great nutrition) is a stunning coat waiting to emerge. Henry will require a commitment to periodic grooming by a calm and loving groomer who appreciates that Henry is just developing his understanding of the grooming experience.
Henry will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/12/16. We're currently accepting applications for this very loving and fun best friend. If interested, please fill out an adoption app at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
