My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter! Milo, at only 9 weeks old and 3 lbs (is estimated to be full grown at about 16 lbs), was facing the end of his life before it ever began. Farfel's Texas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this puppy...they rescued Milo just in time.

This sweet and engaging Jack Russell/Cavalier mix is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of his temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life. Milo is also incredibly beautiful...with the shiniest pure white coat with the most beautiful black markings.. the sheen has come out since he received a good, sudsy bath following his release from the shelter.

Milo is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his young age. He's so smart and very engaging...so typical of both the Jack Russell and Cavalier breeds . He's also bright and so loving...clearly having no memory of his scary start.

Since Milo is just a baby, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion - he will form firm bonds with his family (as well as other dogs & humans) and learn positive socialization skills through Puppy kindergarten followed by positive reinforcement group Obedience Classes. It does take time (once a week for an hour) and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with appropriate behavior.

We're open to Milo finding his forever home with a very active retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a puppy. He would thrive on being the center of attention and would return your love a thousand times over.

Milo is great with children as well but we would prefer to place him in a home with older kids that can participate in a gentle yet consistent training regimen. If Milo has kind children in his family, he will develop a love for kids and he has the temperament to be a loyal and very loving best friend.

Milo will be up to date on his vetting. We're hoping that he will be neutered when he arrives from Texas, however a very young puppy like Milo is often deemed too young to fix. If this is the case, Farfel's will cover all costs for Milo to be neutered in Denver to be in line with our commitment to be a part of the solution to pet overpopulation.

Milo will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/26/16. If interested in this very sweet and fun-loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
