My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Teddy! Teddy is our teddy-bear faced terrier/beagle mix. Teddy is neutered, heart worm and parasite negative, and current on heartworm prevention and all vaccines. He is about 4 years old and around 25-30 lbs. His foster mom had his blood work done and he was given a clean bill of health by the vet! He is completely housebroken, but he may try to initially mark a new environment since he's male. Teddy stays in our kitchen while we're at work and we haven't had any incidents other than finding the occasional (unchewed) shoe or umbrella in his bed. We can't decide if he just misses us or if he's a bit of a hoarder.

Teddy likes to roll around in the grass, chase his foster brother, and nap! When he's not rolling, chasing or sleeping, he prances and high steps around the house. Teddy is great with his bossy foster dog brother, and is curious but respectful to our old lady cat. He loves to cuddle up to our 12 year old daugther but has not yet been exposed to smaller children. We don't have any reason to believe he would do poorly with them.

Teddy is a great walking companion - he stays right by your side and maintains a loose leash. He does occasionally get frightened of cars, but will just veer over to the side of the sidewalk furthest from the road, and then carry on once the car has past.

With all of Teddy's perks, he can be quite shy initially. He took about two weeks to adjust to our home, and is still timid about some things. For example, he seems uncomfortable on car rides and he doesn't like when we use a broom to sweep. We're certain that he'll continue to gain confidence once he's comfortable and knows what to expect in his new home.

Teddy is currently being fostered in Huntsville, Alabama but he is not picky about where he ends up as long as he is loved. Want to meet this this super cute little guy? Fill out an application online at www.FORrescue.net or email info@FORrescue.net for more information. Thank you!!
