My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It seems that everyone loves Schnauzers and Terriers (both always rank very high in the most popular breeds list). We do...especially if they're as sweet and loving as Scooby. He was acknowledged at a high-kill Texas shelter for having a great temperament and being so wonderful to love on and cuddle.

Scooby, at 5 months old and 17 lbs (anticipated to be a full-grown weight of approximately 35 lbs) is an exceptionally beautiful boy with the cutest scruffy face ever! You can tell when you look into his very expressive eyes that his life has held sadness and challenges..but he would never be one to carry that around. While initially shy...give him a moment! Scooby's great energy makes you melt. As he trusts more and more... and then before you know it, this adorable puppy is in your lap letting you know you are his number one love! We can't think of a better or more devoted companion for retirees or a family with gentle children who are searching for the sweetest, most fun playmate ever.

Scooby would be a kind and respectful family member...he loves his people so much that he desires to behave to the best of his ability. As a puppy, he simply needs to understand what is being asked of him..once clear, he truly wants to comply. We think Scooby would be very successful in puppy kindergarten followed by positive group obedience classes. He would naturally bond with his family while learning skills that will make him a pleasant well-mannered member of the community. Scooby desires be a long-term best friend who will always be waiting at the door with a happy tail and a kiss of greeting.

Scooby will fit in with a family or individual that enjoys outdoor adventures..he loves the sunshine and would be overjoyed with a long walk (or better yet..a hike), a fenced yard and a sunny porch. He is more than happy to engage in anything his guardian has in mind ...and smiles with joy at being included. We feel that Scooby would thrive in a family that includes their dog in their lives. Leaving him alone at home for many, many hours wouldn't work for this sensitive boy. He's so pleasant...and could accompany his family just about anywhere a sweet pup is welcome. We would love a family that would give Scooby the benefit of this type of socialization. He would truly be a gift to anyone searching for a loving and extremely devoted best friend.

Scooby will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 9/23/16. If interested in this adorable and sweet...and often very entertaining best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
