Red's Story...
Do you love to play fetch, go for long runs/hikes, or enjoy hanging out at the dog park? If you answered yes to all three and will do these consistently then Red might be the right dog for you. Red is around one year old Redbone Coonhound mix, weighing approximately 40 lbs with room to fill out and grow. He loves to hop into the back of the SUV for car rides to the dog park. He loves people, he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, and he gets along well with dogs and cats. Red loves tennis balls and will play fetch for as long as you throw the ball. Red does not like being crated but we are working on this. He is house trained but he is still working on his house manners. Red needs to go to an experienced high energy/working dog home only with a large fenced yard and time to continue his training. Red needs a job, mental & physical activity, and patience. He walks well with a gentle lead and is having to work for his treats and food (Kong, dog feeder puzzles, etc.). Red is microchipped, up to date on vaccines including his heartworm preventative, neutered and is being fostered in Huntsville, AL. If you are interested in this eye catching, energetic dog, please apply for Red atwww.forrescue.net/dog- application. Once received, his foster mom will be in touch and can answer all of your questions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Red, a Huntsville Labrador Retriever/Vizsla dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Vizsla for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Vizsla dog from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Vizsla breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Vizsla rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
