Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Argus is a handsome bluetick coonhound, about 2 yrs old and weighing about 45 lbs. Argus came into a rural Virginia shelter limping. After a visit to the vet, it was determined that he had a two month old injury to his hip. He had probably been hit by a car and been suffering for a while. Argus needed surgery to repair his femur, which was broken at the hip. Generous local volunteers and NECR supporters contributed funds for the vet expenses, Argus has had his surgery and is recovering. Argus will need some physical therapy for the next few months to strengthen the muscles in his upper leg and hip. This consists of walking him several times a day including uphills and down hills. He will be ready for transport in early October.
Argus has a sweet and friendly personality; he's easy to love and affectionate. He walks well on a leash. Argus has a loud coonhound voice which he doesn't use a lot - but still, condo or apartment living would not be the best situation for him. We are seeking a foster or adopter for Argus and can put you in touch with his current foster in Virginia for more information on his progress.
