My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Nova. I’m a 9 month old Dachshund mix, weighing in at approximately 9 lbs. I recently moved to Madison from Texas. When I arrived, my foster mom gave me a bath. I decided I really love baths. At first it startled me a bit, but once I was done and smelled great, I thought to myself that it wasn’t so bad! My foster mom keeps telling me what a sweetheart I am, so I guess I should believe her. I’m a bundle of energy when I’m outside with my sister, my foster mom’s dogs and the other foster dog in our home, but when I’m inside I love to cuddle and have my ears and belly rubbed. I love to run, chase and play with tennis balls, lay in the sun and when I get too warm I’ll move to the shade. Mom is starting to work with me on a leash. I’d rather play, but I have found that rewards are a good incentive to listening and trying. I’m not great, but I’ll keep working on it so when I go to my furever home I can go on walks with my new family. I’m doing very well on house training. When mom asks if I need to go outside I will follow her to the back door and go outside to do my business. When I do I get lots of praise. I love praise! I’m also kennel trained and I don’t have any accidents when I sleep in there at night and when my foster mom isn’t at home I also get along really well with the other dogs in my foster home. Nova is currently being fostered in Madison WI. Her adoption fee is $350 and covers spay all age appropriate shots, microchip and health certificate.
