My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This gorgeous boy is Beau. While gorgeous isn’t usually a term used to describe boys, it fits Beau. He is a stunning Rottweiler and weighs 82 pounds. Beau is still a baby at a year old. He won’t reach maturity or his full weight until he is about three. Beau is at his full height now but will probably gain another ten pounds.
Beau started life in Kansas City, Missouri. His owner didn’t want him and surrendered him to rescue there and he ended up at the Wisconsin Rottweiler Rescue in Madison. Just when things were looking up for Beau the founder of the Rottweiler Rescue passed away suddenly, Beau suddenly found himself in need of rescue again. Beau is safe with us until he finds his forever home.
All the Rottweiler breed characteristics fit Beau. He is good natured, obedient, intelligent and powerful. It’s clear nobody worked with Beau as a young pup. Beau now knows sit and lay and is working on stay. He has the typical fifteen second attention span of most puppies. He is eager to please as soon as he understands what he is supposed to do. Beau is learning to walk nicely by your side on a leash but isn’t there all the time yet. There are squirrels and bunnies to watch and he loses focus because he is a baby yet.
Beau and his new family would greatly benefit from a basic obedience class. Beau needs someone committed to working with him and finishing his training. Beau needs a fenced yard to safely run and play. His forever home should not have a cat, Rottweilers usually think they are fun squeaky toys. He’d like any children in his home to be over 12 so he doesn’t knock them over by accident.
Beau is house trained and crate trained. He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.
