Meet Rufus! Affectionately known as our naked mole rat Rufus is a 6-8 month old pup who found himself at a local shelter when his family was no longer able to properly care for him. Its probably for the best as he had a pretty bad flea infection that caused his skin to be raw, irritated and led to significant hair loss (hence the loving nickname of naked mole rat). Thankfully its a pretty easy fix and he is now free of those nasty unwelcome flea visitors and his skin is slowly healing and his hair is starting to grow back a bit. Rufus is friendly with all people he meets, but does not always know his size so he may be too rough for very young kids, and loves to play with dogs, particularly those around his same size. He is super into any type of toys and would love to have a family willing to work with him on training to be his best self. Rufus is not yet neutered as the vet wants to give his skin a little time to heal first, but it will be included in his adoption fee. He is microchipped and vaccinated already.
