My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Freud is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wag (notice his waggy tail in his shelter photo). Once he gets a sudsy bath and grooming...Freud will absolutely be one of the cutest guys around.

At 12 - 18 months old and 11 lbs Freud is every bit the the happy young guy...fun and active, but at the same time he is a very well-behaved pup who is not yappy or unnecessarily vocal - he expresses himself with his wagging tail and excited kisses. The shelter had the following to say about this sweet guy:

Freud is a mellow, lap-dog kind of guy who just loves to hang out. He such a great spirit when he spends time in the shelter office - sweet to all and very engaging! Freud walks well on leash (and loves to be out and about) and is very good and loving with other dogs, cats, and kids. We have absolutely no doubt that he will be a great addition to any kind and nurturing family.

At this early point in Freud's development, he loves everyone..be it human, canine or feline. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Freud to a family who expresses their love for him in many different ways. We'd like Freud to attend positive reinforcement group obedience classes...he'll be a star and we'd like him to be the very best adult dog he's capable of being. Right now, Freud is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved guy around.

We'd like Freud to be with an active family who will include him in their activities. With his easy-going nature, he will fit l into virtually any family...a family with kids or not or active retirees would be perfect for Freud.

Freud is so portable at 11 lbs that he can easily be a constant companion. He would love nothing more than walks or hikes, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend) or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Freud is young enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance, he can succeed.

Freud will not be neutered when he arrives in Denver -while we request it, there aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of Kansas. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Freud's neuter and microchip immediately after his arrival if our Denver vet is used.

Freud is a non-shedding guy (with the most beautiful markings of charcoal black and the whitest of whiteK). He will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his coat cottony-soft and matt-free.

Freud will be arriving on transport in Denver on Thursday 10/20/16. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
