Farfel's Rescue was notified by a compassionate rescuer in Texas that a very beautiful Poodle/Maltese was in immediate need of rescue. The rescuer spoke of this 2.5 - 3 year old (a perfect age for any dog..old enough to have left puppyish behaviors behind and young enough to have many, many active years ahead), 12 lb pup as a wonderful companion for an active family.
Toby is a pup that's in a heartbreaking situation...his young mom has brain cancer and is unable to care for the active and fun-loving Toby. Her wish is that he be adopted out to a family that will love him and treat him with kindness and respect. We are determined to honor Toby's mom's wishes and find Toby a special family that will be overjoyed to welcome him as a member of their family. They will provide this little guy with exercise, socialization, hugs and belly rubs that every dog deserves. With time spent with loving and nurturing guardians, Toby will leave his sadness behind and blossom in his new life.
Farfel's is searching for a special, dog-crazy family for this sweet guy. Toby is currently living with a child and is very loved by his human sister. Farfel's would be happy to place Toby in a home with a gentle child who love dogs..both would be overjoyed with the relationship. Toby also lives with a Golden Retriever and quite a few kitties...we believe that a better situation for Toby is as a one and only. He would enjoy...and blossom in this type of household.
Farfel's is committed to finding Toby a very active household. While only weighing in at 12 lbs...Toby would love to be a world class hiker. His joy would know no bounds to use his energy on the trails...hiking in the sunshine and at the end of the day plopping down on the couch for a belly rub. Once Toby becomes comfortable in his surroundings, he will be a friend that will make his family laugh at his silly antics and want to hold him tight just because he's so incredibly cute!
Toby is a non-shedding pup (and considered a great mix for those with allergy concerns)...under his current hair, there's a gorgeous coat just waiting to grow out. He will therefore require a commitment to periodic baths/grooming and great nutrition to keep his cottony-soft coat shining and matt-free.
