My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that is dismal and scary... and quickly runs out of space. This is the situation that Loki was put into at just 8 weeks old. It's not terribly unusual to see opportunistic breeding with both Yorkies and Chihuahuas ...and if all doesn't go perfectly...out they go into the street or to a high-kill shelter. Such was the case with Loki. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great New Mexico rescuer in saving Loki...she could see that his temperament was so loving and sweet that she couldn't allow him to be euthanized.

Loki was immediately brought to be vetted and temperament tested - he was pronounced a healthy puppy with a very sweet and lovable personality. It turns out that Loki, at only 8 weeks old and a tiny 2 lbs (anticipated to be approximately 8 lbs when full-grown), is so awesome and loving that it's been a rewarding experience for his rescuer. She reported to us that Loki is absolutely a lovebug and very social and well-adjusted. She described his personality as typically Yorkie/Chi...sweet and so lovable while being active and playful. She sees Loki as a just about perfect family companion made to be a best friend. He will be overjoyed with time spent with his favorite people... going for walks and loving the outdoors is a natural for this energetic puppy.

Like most Yorkie mixes, Loki is extremely loyal and very in love with those who are kind and and nurturing. He's like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around him. If Loki continues to be properly socialized, he will become a well-adjusted and devoted adult companion. If he is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, he will become a well-behaved dog who respects his people as his leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for Loki.

We feel it's very important that Loki is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. He will be a perfect size to enjoy a lifestyle where he comes along...shopping, socializing and strolling through his neighborhood would speak to Loki's engaging personality. We'd also be thrilled with a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities.

We feel that Loki is too young to be neutered prior to his transport to Denver. When he gets to be approximately 4 - 6 months old, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Loki's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used.
