Sylvia (Spayed)'s Story...
"Sylvia" is a beautiful 2-year old female Tortoiseshell kitty who was surrendered to the HSOV on September 21, 2016 along with her four 6-week old kittens (Baker, Jeremiah, Swagg, and Teri Ann). "Sylvia" and her babies had taken shelter beneath a downtown Marietta business establishment and were kept safe by the proprietor of that store. "Sylvia" was a wonderful mother to her babies, and she raised four happy, healthy youngsters. All of the kittens except for little Swagg (an orange tabby female) have found homes recently .. And their lovely mother who gave them life and nurtured them is also waiting for someone to fall in love with her and give her the loving home she truly deserves. "Sylvia" has a dark brown/orange/beige short smooth coat in a tortoiseshell pattern, a long tail, and a very pretty face. She has a sweet disposition and loves attention. "Sylvia" was given vaccinations and wormer on September 21, 2016. She was spayed on November 2, 2016 and was given rabies vaccine. Her kittens were spayed/neutered on November 16, 2016. We'd love to see Momma Sylvia and Kitten Swagg find a home together. They are also available for rescue. Rescue groups may contact our Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation and also provide combo testing without charge to rescues..

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sylvia (Spayed), a Marietta Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
