My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You know that we all have our favorites...maybe it's the pup that snuggles a bit closer and wags his entire body when he sees you.. simply because he can't contain how much he loves you. These descriptions would be Frosty. His Kansas rescuers were set on saving this sweet boy's life.

Frosty got caught in an extremely overcrowded shelter system that doesn't have the time or personnel to deal with the little guy in the dark cage... wagging his tail so hopefully. Frosty's great temperament (active and engaging) and his sweet eyes that were so pleading were his ticket to a new life.

Frosty was vetted and brought to his rescuer's home to get the attention he always deserved and to work on his house skills. Frosty was ready to for his trip to Colorado - a bit wiser and so excited about new possibilities

We feel like Frosty might have been treated unkindly during his short life...he's a bit fearful when he first meets new people. But with a bit of kindness, Frosty will understand that there's lots of good in the world. He never hesitates to put his best self forward...that is an engaging personality and enthusiasm for his favorite people and canine friends

We can't forget that Frosty, at 14 lbs and approximately 18 - 24 months old is still learning.. and his behavior will not have the consistent maturity of an older dog who's already learned the ropes. Frosty is a blank slate waiting to be led. Being a young pup still, Frosty is open to new ideas with new ways of approaching challenges...he just needs a human who is clear with a young guy. Frosty would benefit from positive reinforcement group training classes so he can be given clear guidelines and fun socialization. It would also cement the relationship with his family so Frosty will understand that he is loved and accepted.

Frosty would be a great take-along pup for retirees who desire the loving and cuddly presence of a furry guy. He would blossom with the exercise and mental stimulation that every well-adjusted young pup should have. Loving leadership is important so this young guy knows what is being asked of him - he will then be an exceptional partner and devoted companion.

Frosty appears to be a non-shedding pup and will therefore require a commitment to great nutrition and periodic grooming to keep his cottony-soft coat healthy and matt-free.

Frosty will be arriving on transport in Denver on Tuesday 12/20/16. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
