My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great New Mexico rescuer in saving Cortez. She could see that his temperament was so sweet and loving that she couldn't allow him to be euthanized.

Cortez is such a sweet and endearing spirit who cuddles against you for love and security - such a special boy. He was immediately brought to be vetted and then to a great rescuer's home to receive pure love and begin his education.

Cortez is just 13 weeks old and weighs approximately 5 lbs (expected to be approximately 17 lbs when full-grown.) He is playful, silly and so very sweet that it's become a fun and rewarding experience for his foster mom. Cortez's foster has said they haven't turned on the TV since Cortez came to their house...he's so entertaining. Cortez is like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around him. If he continues this regimen of socialization that promote positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans...Cortez will become a well-adjusted and pleasant adult companion.

Cortez is a gorgeous Jack Russell mix puppy. He has the cutest antics ever with a shining coat that speaks of good health. His loving and sweet demeanor is just who he is..Cortez also appears to be more entertaining than your average puppy. If he is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, Cortez will become a well-adjusted guy who respects his people as his leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for this sweet and cuddly puppy.

We also feel it's very important that Cortez is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. He would be overjoyed with one day walking along Colorado paths and enjoying the sunshine. We'd like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Cortez can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany his family just about anywhere.

Cortez has the cutest markings and mask ever. His tri-colored face and fuzzy white body couldn't be any more adorable and lovable. Lots of sudsy baths and serious brushing combined with great nutrition will keep this puppy's coat healthy and silky-soft.

It has been determined that Cortez is too young to be neutered at this time. After his arrival in Denver, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Cortez's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used.

Cortez will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 1/21/17. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
