My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Daisy was fearful as she came into a very high-kill shelter in New Mexico. She's a sensitive girl...and through it all she seemed like an old soul as she took it all in. She was never nasty or snippy..just initially fearful of new people who might hurt her. She soon found out otherwise and has spent part of her shelter time in the arms of shelter personnel...needless to say that she's a favorite. It just isn't in her nature to be anything but sweet once she feels comfortable.

Daisy, at approximately 18 - 24 months old and 18 lbs, represents the sad irresponsibility that is so present when pet guardians choose not to spay/neuter...they're homeless and confused. These unwanted dogs deserve a great life every bit as much as any other living being. Daisy has a wonderful disposition and through it all, still has the desire to love and be loved. While initially shy..she comes around with those who are kind and respectful. She loves to snuggle and show her devotion in so many ways. Daisy enjoys her relationships with gentle dogs as well...it seems that she derives confidence from being around these positive-energy pups.

Daisy tries very hard to show that she's worthy of a permanent family to love and nurture her. Her little tail wags hesitantly when she sees a possibility for a pat or any kind gesture. She would be overjoyed..after gathering her confidence.. if she got gentle attention. It would bring a light to those concerned eyes!

Farfel's is searching for that special family for this exceptional Spaniel/Sheltie mix (or at least that's what the Kansas vets tell us..all we know is that she's so adorable!). Once Daisy gets a spa treatment for the first time..there won't be a more beautiful girl around. Her stunning red coat will frame the kind glow in her eyes that speak of a gentle soul.

We're seeking a family that wants to spend quality time with this exceptional girl. She would learn from the gentle guidance and time put in of people who love her...she'll return that devotion a million times over once she understands that she can trust. We feel that Daisy would enjoy a retired couple (or individual) or a family with older dog-crazy children who will be gentle and loving toward the this sweet girl.

A positive reinforcement training class would also be great for bonding between Daisy and her people. It's a new world for this sensitive dog and she'll be so successful with the knowledge that she is loved and chosen to be a member of a very special family.

Daisy will be up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to adopting out healthy and well-balanced pups. Farfel's has requested that Daisy be spayed prior to her transport to Colorado. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Daisy's spay and microchip if our Denver vet is used.

Daisy will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 1/28/17. If interested in this beautiful and sweet...and often very entertaining best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
