Bamboo looked every bit the stray as he came into a high-kill shelter in Texas. It was possible that this beautiful 13 lb Jack Russell with the striking chocolate-colored mask (and the most expressive dark eyes ever) had never had a bath in his 12 - 18 month life. Bamboo represents the sad opportunism that is so present in breeding what is looked at as purebred or designer breed dogs. They're treated so poorly and disrespectfully…and then disposed of when their perceived use is over. But Bamboo is strong.. and his sweetness and great personality always shines through.

After a sudsy bath (coconut oil would feel so great on Bamboo's skin) followed by a regimen of great nutrition... and Bamboo will be a very handsome guy! He has a wonderful disposition and through it all... strongly has the desire to love and be loved. Bamboo is never one to turn down a soft touch or a loving lap... or a friendly canine companion. Bamboo tries so hard to show that he's worthy of a permanent family to adore and respect him. His whole back end wags hesitantly when he sees a possibility for a pat or a loving gesture.

Bamboo would be overjoyed with family love and attention…it would bring a light to those sad eyes! Farfel's is searching for that special home for this exceptional Terrier. We're seeking a family that doesn't work full-time outside of the home and wants to spend quality time with a furry best friend . Bamboo would learn from the gentle guidance and time put in by people who love him. He will return that devotion a million times over.

We feel that Bamboo would enjoy a very active retired couple or individual who would enjoy sharing the trails of Colorado with a furry companion. A family with dog-loving children would also be great. If they're gentle and loving toward Bamboo and include him in their lives..he'll become a loyal best friend.

It's a new path in his life that this sensitive guy is pursuing. He'll be successful with the knowledge that he is loved and chosen to be a member of a very special family. Bamboo will also shine in positive reinforcement group training class with a family that wants to participate in training. His self esteem will soar and reflect the calm of a secure and well-trained dog that can accompany his family just about anywhere.
