Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Zane is an adorable Border Collie/Golden mix (or so we're told) who loves to snuggle. He is about 2 years old, 35 pounds and has amazingly soft ears. Zane sheds minimally throughout the year, with brief bouts of seasonal shedding twice a year. Zane strives every day to earn your affection, he is very loyal to his "pack" and would love nothing more than to spend time on your lap. His expressive eyes and ears will melt your heart.
Zane is completely house trained, and knows many commands including sit, down, touch, place, shake, off, and quiet. As a Border Collie mix, Zane has many working dog traits: he is intelligent and eager to please. He would do great with someone who wants to practice agility, flyball, or other "working" jobs. Zane loves to have a job, and we have seen it increase his confidence and help build a strong bond with his foster family.
Previously, Zane lived in a home with family violence, and he developed a habit of nipping people to try to control scary situations. After being rescued from that home Zane has been undergoing intensive training. He has been very successful at re-learning how to interact with people. He needs a family that can commit to continuing his training. Zane needs a family of experienced dog owners (preferably with experience dealing with herding breeds), and with no children.
Zane is currently in a foster home in the Boulder area. Applications are being accepted and Meet and Greets are being set up.
