Arrival Story: Waggin’ Tails answered a plea from a shelter to get this girl into rescue because she wasn’t handling shelter life well after being relinquished by her family due to a divorce.
Approximate Age/Weight: 5 years / 85 lbs.

Personality: Hannah arrived at Waggin’ Tails in a pretty stressed state of mind. There was so much change and not much structure in her life but with help from her foster family and a good trainer, Hannah has made great progress in becoming a confident, balanced dog. She is a smart girl who was looking for guidance from humans. Hannah is treat motivated and “works” for her meals (stuffed kongs, snufflemat, food puzzles) now. Hannah knows basic commands, is working on crate-training, and has great house manners.

Silly, playful, and will never turn down a good game of fetch, Hannah will be happy to curl up with you afterwards for a nap on the couch. Hannah is friendly, affectionate, and enjoys chewing on toys, but never anything inappropriate. Walks make her happy and she has now learned to check in with eye contact while walking. Hannah can be cautious of newly introduced things in her life. She will thrive in a structured (but not rigid) home environment where she knows what the routine is. Hannah is learning good door manners, too.

Forever Home: Hannah is a beautiful dog who won over her foster family immediately. She would do best in a low-key home where she would be the only canine. She enjoys interacting with humans and will want to be near you. Fenced yard only. No invisible fences please.

About Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit rescue group. Our experienced and dedicated volunteers donate their spare time to rescue, rehabilitate, foster, and re-home all breeds of homeless dogs at risk of being euthanized or sold to research from area and rural kill shelters. We are supported solely through donations and fund-raising efforts. Our volunteers receive no monetary payment for their activities. Instead, their reward is the knowledge that a dog's life has been saved that otherwise would have been lost.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We typically show every Saturday from 12-3 p.m. (please see our website for exact location details). We often have other special events that are listed on our website, as well. Potential adopters can also schedule meetings with the individual dog's foster parent since all of our dogs are in fosters homes and we do not own a shelter.

Our Adoption Process...

We utilize an application process because we have worked hard at nurturing and working with the animals in our care. In order to ensure that these formerly abandoned, neglected and abused animals never find themselves in the shelter/rescue system again, we screen applicants so that the applicant is matched to an animal that is suited to the applicant's lifestyle.

It is our job at Waggin’ Tails not only to find new homes for our animals but to ensure these animals never have an opportunity to breed again. All of Waggin’ Tails dogs will be spayed/neutered at the time of adoption unless the dog is not of age and/or the dog has a medical condition that would prohibit sterilization at the time of adoption. Dogs under 6 months of age and dogs that cannot be sterlilized due to a medical condition will be adopted out on a spay/neuter contract which means the adopter must agree to have the dog sterilized by a specified date.

Adoption Fees
Adult Dogs: $225
Small Breed Dogs: $275
Senior Dogs: $125
Puppies (under 6 months): $250 + $50 refundable Spay/Neuter Deposit

What does the adoption fee Include?
The adoption fees above cover all age-appropriate vaccines; heartworm/fecal test; spay/neuter (unless otherwise stated); and microchipping. When necessary, the dogs have blood panels, dentals, and professional grooming as well. In other words, we do everything necessary for the dog when they come into our care.
