My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Mahalo which means “thank you” in the Hawaiian language. You might think that's a little strange since in my photo I'm the poster kitten for all things Irish, but the truth is that I have a lot to be thankful for. When I was born, I was the runt of the litter and I had some health issues. The rescue I was with took me to a vet who thought I had a serious medical condition and that I was toast! The nice lady at the rescue thought I deserved a chance, however, and she contacted Helping PAWS, so I came here. Mahalo, Helping PAWS!

It took some time and effort, but I'm fast becoming the picture of health. I still take some medicine once per day, but pretty soon I won't even need that. While I was here, I met my BFF, Festivus. He really taught me the ropes, and if you are looking for two cats to complete your family, you couldn't do better than us. The people here say I have the most amazing purr that you will ever hear. It's this rumbling, melodic sound that everyone finds enchanting. If you want to hear it, just stop by and ask for me. I'm not quite ready for my forever home (because I'm still taking medicine), but I will be soon, and if you would like to foster me in the meantime, I'd be very happy. Mahalo everyone!
