Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Trixie is a sweet and easy to love dog who enjoys car rides, is very well behaved and easy to walk on leash. She is housetrained, nondestructive, she loves everyone and when not on our laps, she is usually sleeping nearby. She will likely follow you around the house a bit but she has no separation anxiety issues. When left alone, she barks a few times, then curls up somewhere and sleeps. Her health is great and she has plenty of energy. We are truly, truly heartbroken that we have to give Trixie up but she and our male dog have tussled a few times and we can’t seem to get them past it. We believe this started because Trixie has some eyesight and hearing impairment and she can be startled by dogs running up on her as well as some alpha competition between the two dogs. We have approached Trixie many times from behind or when she is sleeping and even when startled, she just wags her tail and shows no signs of aggression towards us ever. She really is very sweet and loving and she will be missed.
If Trixie has a fault, it is that she often wakes up hungry and though she is not a problem barker, she will bark and let you know that she wants her breakfast and sometimes at dinner. We usually give her a kong or raw hide to hold her over and often just sitting with her and rubbing her ears calms her down. Trixie will be a wonderful and loving companion in a one dog household but please also consider that the energy and excitement of younger children is probably not a good thing for Trixie due to her impairment.
Trixie is available in the Boston area for visits. Adoption Fee wil be waived for the right home.
