My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuers in saving Devon. She could see that his temperament was so sweet that she couldn't allow him to be euthanized.

Devon is such a sweet and endearing spirit who cuddles against you for love and security - such a special guy. After his rescue, he was immediately brought to be vetted and then to a foster home to receive pure love and begin his education.

Devon is just 15 weeks old and weighs about 6 lbs (we'll update with an exact weight after his vet visit). Devon is expected to be approximately 12 - 15 lbs when full-grown.

Devon is a sweet puppy that is still a bit overwhelmed by his rescue. With love and assurance, we know he'll just be a typical, silly and loving puppy. Devon is very cute and so silly. His foster has said they haven't turned on the TV since Devon came to their house...he's so entertaining. He is like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around him. If Devon continues this regimen of socialization that promote positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans...he will become a well-adjusted and very loyal and loving adult companion.

Devon is a gorgeous Cavalier mix puppy. Once comfortable, he has the cutest antics ever with a shining, cotton-soft coat that speaks of his breed mix. His sweet and silly demeanor is just who he is..Devon just appears to be an entertaining puppy who is learning that humans and other gentle dogs are awesome. If he is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, Devon will become a well-adjusted guy who respects his people as his leaders. This is the kind of mindful family that we're searching for for this sweet and cuddly puppy.

We also feel it's very important that Devon is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. He would be overjoyed with one day walking along Colorado paths and enjoying the sunshine. We'd like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Devon can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany his family just about anywhere.

Devon has a very soft coat that will require care to be very shiny and healthy. Sudsy baths and brushing combined with great nutrition (a salmon oil supplement is a great choice) will keep this puppy's coat beautiful and speaking of his great health.

Devon will not be neutered when he arrives in Denver - while we request it, there just aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of Texas. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Devon's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used.

Devon will be arriving on transport in Denver on 4/9/17. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this sweet and endearing puppy who is searching for a best friend...please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com, fax to 303-443-7730 or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302.
