Facts about Truffle

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Tortoiseshell
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 11179981
  • Hair: Short
Truffle is a gorgeous girl that has never quite gotten used to humans. She was caught outside in a very large colony when she was about 6 weeks or so. She is polite and very well mannered, but doesn't allow her fosters to touch her. She loves to watch TV! She'll also watch Youtube videos for cats. She seems to get picked on by other cats but has a few that she really likes and gets along with well. She does best in her own space which is provided for her with a cat door leading to an enclosed outdoor area. She really loves spending time outside. Truffle is quite curious, and even nosy! She will watch from a few feet away, she loves to play, and will swat at string toys and balls that you throw to her. She gets along with other animals as long as the other animals are not overbearing. Placement with another quiet animal would work nicely for her – and them. She's a beautiful calico/tortoiseshell. Do you have room in your heart and home for this special needs girl? All adoption fees will be waved to give this lovely cat a chance. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, has her rabies shot, and she tested negative for FeL/FIV. About Stray HELP, Inc

About Our Rescue Group...

Our mission is to rescue and care for stray and homeless animals while providing humane education to the community.
We work with members of the community to help cats in need. We conduct trap/neuter/return and place projects and train home and business owners on how to properly care for free roaming cats on their property and in their neighborhoods.
We focus in southern Dutchess County, but help people throughout Dutchess, Putnam and Orange counties by connecting them with local rescues that can work with them, loaning equipment, coordinating spay/neuter clinics and offering guidance.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are the Adoption Partner with Poughkeepsie Petsmart, where cats and kittens are cared for in the store. We also have cats and kittens in private foster.

Our Adoption Process...

We require a completed application, and make all calls to references.
If potential adopter has other pats they must be up to date on vaccines (unless otherwise recommended by a licensed vet) and that all cats must be tested for FIV/FeLV.
We have an adoption donation of $150 per kitten and $125 per adult cat.
We require a signed contract upon adoption.
