My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There are many, many Terrier lovers in the dog world...they're considered to be one of the most desirable of breeds. This is due to their consistently engaging temperaments and overall intelligence. There's also no question that they're strikingly beautiful with their golden scruffy coats and their soft, expressive eyes.

Jules is an extremely cute Yorkshire Terrier/Silky Terrier mix. It's difficult to tell in this photo (due to his need for a sudsy bath and grooming to give his coat an opportunity to grow in healthy and Terrier-scruffy).

Jules is 12 - 18 months old and 14 lbs... and was very waggy with all the dogs and humans that he got temperament tested with. He seems to have overcome his shelter fear and appears to be at peace regarding the challenges of his earlier life.

We feel that Jules's forever family should have the motivation to continue his socialization and offer him the gift of positive reinforcement group obedience training classes. Through these clear boundaries and leadership by his humans, Jules will emerge as a well-adjusted and very bonded companion. He's so beautiful both inside and out and deserves a family that appreciates his gifts and is willing to show him boundaries through love and time spent.

We are searching for an active family...either retirees or families with older, gentle and dog-loving kids. Another like-sized, fun doggie playmate and a fenced yard would be great for Jules. He (like all dogs) is happier and therefore more well-behaved if he's given enough exercise and fun... followed by snuggling with his favorite people. It would be a family who spend lots of time at home (or chooses to take a sweet dog with them to dog-friendly situations) that would provide a great forever home for Jules. He would enjoy the time spent together and would blossom with a family that considers their dog a valued member of their family.

It is Jule's love affair with life and all the hardships that he's suffered along the way that motivates us to put him through Heartworm treatments..Jule's precious life deserves to be saved! Jules has tested low HW+ and Farfel's (with the help of Dr G in Denver) has volunteered to save this very special dog's life. The heart worm treatment process involves several shots followed by a short period of quiet time for the dog. We have found this protocol to be very successful and the dogs go on to live long, happy lives.

We are seeking an adopter to lovingly care for Jules as he becomes Heartworm negative. It's quite an easy rehab process as it only entails mellow time with soft words and belly rubs. Farfel's will pay the vet bills and provide premium food and treats for this special guy as he becomes healthily heartworm-free.

Jules will develop a stunning coat over a period of time of great nutrition and a commitment to periodic grooming. As a result of this great care, Jules will proudly strut his stuff and show off his soft and healthy Terrier coat.

Jules will arrive on transport in Boulder on Friday 4/21/17. Applications are currently being accepted for this extremely sweet and devoted best friend and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
