I am a super friendly girl who happened upon some bad times early in my life. However, things are looking up in a big way! I am now heartworm free, I have gained some weight and I have more energy than I have ever had in my life! My foster mom says I am the MOST loveable dog she has ever been around. I love to give hugs and to just lie down next to her when she is sitting on the floor. I am happiest when I am with my human, it doesn’t matter to me what I am doing.
Speaking of things that I like… I LOVE to ride in the car. I am a very good girl in the back of my foster mom’s SUV. I just sit and watch or lie down and sleep. I also love to play fetch with my Kong toy. I am especially fond of running, so the further you can throw the happier I am!
While I kennel very quietly and will mostly just lie down and sleep or play with my toys, it has been hard for me to be cooped up. For the last two months I have been getting out more, spending time in the backyard, getting to go for car rides and learning about going to places like Petsmart and other pet friendly places. I am very good on the leash when in a quiet setting, but when there are other things to look at I tend to get distracted and loose some of my manners. I just need a little more time and exposure. When I see people that want to pet and coo over me, I still tend to piddle in my excitement, so please beware and be patient with me. I am super smart and I pick up on lessons VERY quickly. Don’t let my excitement fool you, I am listening and learning everything you are teaching me!
If you are interested in adopting Sedona please email SLN2310@yahoo.com and request an application. Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family.
If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.
Sedona's adoption donation is $400 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test when appropriate and is on preventative, microchip, and neuter. We do not have a physical shelter, all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
